The route to Mardi Himal Base Camp
The Short Mardi Himal Base Camp trek begins at Kande, following 1 hour of driving from Pokhara. At first, the path is acceptable, first gradually up, at that point somewhat more extreme, to Australian Camp (2060m)—about 60 minutes. Then we trek marginally downhill to Pothana (1950m) and back up again to Deurali (2100m). At first, it is very steep, leaving Forest Camp. However, before long, it gets less steep as you again get up on the ridge.
Again, we leave Low Camp in the wilderness. However, the trees soon get smaller and round. After an hour of trekking, we get into the wilderness and onto the open edge, with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre ahead and Annapurna South. From that point onward, we trek down to Siding through Low Camp. From Siding, we drive back to Pokhara.
This is a short, week-long trekking journey to the Mardi Himal Base Camp. However, if you have 2 more vacation days, you can choose Mardi Himal Trek.
