On August 15, 2026, Heaven Himalaya took part in tree plantation campaign in Nilkantha-11, Dhading. The participants of the campaign were representatives of our company and local inhabitants who joined our efforts to conserve nature in Nepal. It is our belief that as a company that deals with sustainable tourism in Nepal, it is necessary not only to help people see natural beauty but to preserve it.
Plant today, Protect tomorrow!
How the Campaign Was Organized
This project started when our team members went on a trip from Kathmandu to Nilkantha Municipality in Dhading District where hills, woods, cultivated lands, and tight rural communities exist. As such natural beauty and the close relationship of nature with people exist in the area, it became a perfect place for the project of planting trees.
Among those present from Heaven Himalaya was Managing Director Ramhari Adhikari and another ten members of the team, including guides and staff who have been working for trekking sites throughout Nepal. As soon as the team arrived at the plantation site, they were greeted by the locals who participated in the event.
The planting drive involved the planting of different varieties of trees that could survive in the environment. Some of the different types of trees planted included coffee, Miyazaki mango, walnut, orange, avocado, Rudraksha, Lapsi, and others. The team worked together in planting the saplings and preparing the ground for the plantation of the trees.
Apart from the plantation of the trees, the day gave the team members an opportunity to interact with the locals who were present at the plantation. The day was marked with teamwork, discussions, and hard work as people tried to achieve their common objective. Photos were taken throughout the event to capture the participation and efforts of everyone involved.
However, the most important thing is that the planted trees shall be taken care of by the locals of the village. Sustainable and Responsible tourism is one of our missions at Heaven Himalaya.
Nilkantha-11: A Community Close to Nature
Located in Dhading District, Nilkantha-11 is surrounded by green hills, forests, cultivated land, and rural settlements. The area reflects the close relationship between local communities and the natural environment that surrounds them. For the people living here, nature is not simply part of the landscape but an important part of everyday life.
The natural surroundings of Nilkantha also make the health of its environment important for the community's future. Planting trees in such a setting is therefore more than a one-day activity. As the saplings grow, they will become part of the local landscape and remain under the care of community members. This connection between environmental action and local stewardship made Nilkantha-11 a meaningful place for the campaign.
Heaven Himalaya's Commitment to Sustainable Tourism
The tree plantation campaign in Dhading reflects Heaven Himalaya's long-term commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism.
As stated in our Sustainable and Responsible Tourism Statement:
"Our responsible tourism statement will embrace sustainable and efficient tourism for the long-term benefit of local people and the environment is one of our company's missions. We are committed to fulfilling our role in promoting and continuously carrying out sustainable and responsible tourism in all aspects of our business to bring about a positive impact on the environment and communities."
This is evident in a number of ways in which we conduct ourselves. We urge our customers to avoid creating plastic pollution by using reusable water bottles and being environmentally conscious during their trip. Moreover, we are always in favor of local guides, porters, and communities whose services are extremely important for Nepal’s tourism industry.
Our trekking and tour packages help tourists develop good traveling habits that ensure proper respect of culture and nature. Being involved in environmental campaigns, including tree plantation, is one of them.
Looking Ahead
Even though the tree plantation campaign might have taken only one day to accomplish, its influence will carry on over the coming years. With time, the saplings will mature to become trees with the help of the care offered by local community members.
Every tree planted today is an investment in Nepal's future. At Heaven Himalaya, we believe responsible tourism is not only about exploring nature but also helping protect it.
